WWII Tanks
Home Page

Currently we have recorded details of 572 Armoured Fighting Vehicles and 323 artillery and vehicle guns that were in use during the Second World War. The information we have is of interest to Wargamers and Historians alike.

The details we provide on each vehicle are as per the example below and have been gleaned from a great many reference books.

We also show the armour details thicknesses and angles of armour together with penetration figures for the A/T guns used, based on Krupp calculations from the late 1920's with some of our own modifications. These provide very accurate figures when compared to actual results obtained at various proving grounds during and after the war.

General Information

The Panzerkampfwagen I was the first german tank manufactured since 1918. Although only a small vehicle armed with 2 machine guns, it gave the German military a vehicle to start the training which eventually led to the Blitzkrieg strategy.
