General Information


The 7.62cm Pak 36(r) Gw 38(t)also known as Marder III was a self propelled anti tank vehicle , 363 of which were used by the germans between 1942 and 1945.

The vehicle was manned by a crew of 4 and was 2.14 metres wide, 4.61 metres long, 2.4 metres high and weighed 10.67 tonnes.

Powered by a 125hp petrol engine the 7.62cm Pak 36(r) Gw 38(t) was capable of a road speed of 25mph and a cross country speed of 15mph. The 7.62cm Pak 36(r) Gw 38(t) had a road range of 115 miles

Based on the czech 38t chassis, the vehicle was armed with 1 light machine gun, a 7.62cm Pak 36(r) L/51 AP with a muzzle velocity of 700m/sec which was capable of penetrating 90mm of armour at 800metres
